Sharpless in Tucson
After visiting the De Grazia’s Gallery in the Sun, my parents followed us to our motel where we checked in and relaxed for a few hours before going to dinner and then attending Phil’s performance of Madame Butterfly.
We drove south on Oracle for an early dinner at La Fuente, an ageless Mexican restaurant which has been serving US Presidents and regular people for over fifty years, and then headed to the Tucson Music Hall, fighting a huge traffic mess caused by the International Gem and Mineral Show, but finally found our seats with a couple minutes to spare. Phil was terrific as Sharpless, the consulate, and the rest of the cast also sung and acted superbly. We met up with Marion and all went backstage after the show to help Phil celebrate.
